Sts. Peter and Paul Council 1918, St. Paul, welcomed the Most Reverend Joji Grovindu, Bishop of Nilgonda, India, as he visited the U.S. to check on the 25 priests he has serving here. Fr. Rayappa Konka of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church is one of these priests.
After celebrating Mass on November 11, the Bishop spoke of his diocese in India and his country. Then Deputy Grand Knight Neil Baquet presented the Bishop with a check from the parish. Financial Secretary Chuck Schmid and Grand Knight Marshall Paczosa followed Baquet and presented the Bishop with a check for $250 from the council.

Knights of Columbus Council 9264, St. Anthony's, Columbus, recently helped remove all of the pews and old carpet in the church and installed new carpet. Initially the project was slated for three consecutive weekends due to the time for the carpet removal and installation, but after learning that it would save the parish $1,000, the Knights removed the old carpet, and the project picked up speed.
With approximately 75 Knights and two Squires donating their time over four evenings, they were able to carpet the entire church including both side chapels in one week's time. The carpet installers were busy trying to keep up with us, and the results look great!
Knights of Columbus Cathedral Council 9563, Lincoln had help with a Pumpkin Patch.
Thanks goes to the following Pack 54 Cub Scouts from Cathedral Parish: Kody Brady, Will Brady, Matthew Frost, Colton Hoy, Tyler Hoy, Landon Krolikowski, and Ryker Krolikowski for helping to unload over 900 pumpkins in early October. The pumpkins were sold as a fundraiser for the council.
It's encouraging to know that these young boys will become men and the next generation of Knights who will continue to keep our parish strong and growing.
