Ultrasound Donated by State Council
The Nebraska Knights of Columbus State Council has donated another ultrasound machine, this time to Nebraskans United for Life. This ultrasound machine purchase was made possible through a matching fund grant provided by the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council Ultrasound Initiative.
Nebraskans United for Life offers free pregnancy testing and ultrasounds. They also offer free pregnancy counseling and provide material assistance such as clothing, diapers, formula, bottles, household items, housewares, financial assistance, food and much more.
What makes this donation so unique is this ultrasound machine has been installed into a mobile unit. An RV has been converted to a mobile clinic that allows NUFL to reach out to those living in or near Nebraska towns which have no pregnancy resource centers.
According to State Deputy Tony Hergott,“Since the Knights Ultrasound Initiative began in January 2009, order-wide, the Knights have provided more than 600 machines to qualified pregnancy recourse centers. This program has saved the lives of countless unborn children and that’s what it is all about. Just think about the powerful impact it has when a mother, considering abortion, she sees her baby for the first time. There is no doubt this experience will strengthen that mother/child bond. Studies indicate more than 90% of women change their minds about having an abortion after seeing an ultrasound. I’m proud of all the State Officers, Culture of Life Directors and the more than 25,500 Brother Knights and their families across Nebraska who made this possible. It shows our commitment to restoring the culture of life one child at a time”.
